Chehalem Mountains AVA

A Single Vineyard, Shaped by the Land

At sunrise, the Cascades catch the first light, casting their glow across the valleys to the Chehalem Mountains. Here, King's Queen Vineyard is rooted in Jory soil and cooled by ocean air each evening. Each harvest carries that balance, shaped by rugged terrain, optimal climate, and the enduring character of Oregon wine country.

Every bottle we produce comes from 100% estate-grown fruit, farmed on our own hillside in the Willamette Valley. Nothing sourced, nothing blended in from elsewhere. The vines were planted in 2008 and consist of Pinot Noir clones Dijon 667, 777, and 115, in addition to Wädenswil and Pomard.

Harvest & Winemaking

Hand-Sorted, Patiently Made

Our fruit is hand-sorted at harvest and delivered to the state-of-the-art winemaking facility in Dundee. Each lot rests in French oak for ten months, a measured percentage of new barrels layered with neutral oak, before it's bottled in small quantities.

The result is two distinct, small-lot expressions of the same Chehalem Mountains ground: Covey Reserve and Maribelle Pauline, made in collaboration with winemaker Bryan Weil of Vinovate.
